Registered Nurse:

Requirements/Skills :

  1. Registered with SANC (South African Nursing Council).
  2. Proof of Identity.
  3. Computer literacy.
  4. Clinical expertise in Professional area of qualification.
  5. Knowledge of caring principles in caring for the elderly with observation abilities and the right approach to it.
  6. Strong leader with great organizational methods.
  7. Administration and Staff Management.
  8. Acknowledged Nursing Training from a reputable organisation.
  9. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of personnel, management, residence and their relatives as well as external relationships.
  10. Ability to manage pressure, conflict and demands.
  11. Prioritize tasks as a team player.
  12. Genuine interest in working with residence living with Dementia and Old Alzheimers. 
  13. Care for the elderly experience or qualification.
  14. Previous management or supervisory experience.
  15. Minimum 2 years professional or personal experience in a similar position.

Duties:

  • Candidate will be required to work shifts as per shift roster. This includes day, night, weekends en public holidays.
  • Oversee and maintain the care of all residents at the old age home on a daily basis.
  • Ensure highest possible standard of care in a professional manner and effective supervision of the nursing care team.
  • Acting as a competent and efficient clinical and managerial decision maker within and on behalf of the nursing and caring team and taking responsibility for those decisions.
  • Care plans: Developing and implementing change to improve the quality of nursing and caring.
  • Administering prescribed medicines and maintaining the appropriate and excellent records in line with the company’s policies and procedures.
  • Participating in staff and client meetings as required.
  • Providing support and guidance when required.
  • Maintaining and improving professional knowledge and competence.
  • Attending training days on or off site as and when required.
  • Promoting safe working practice within the home’s Health and Safety, Infection, Hygiene, Emergency, Fire and any legal procedures and protocols.

Staff Nurse:

Requirements/Skills :

  1. Registered with SANC (South African Nursing Council).
  2. Proof of Identity.
  3. Clinical expertise.
  4. Diploma in Nursing (3 years).
  5. Communication Skills at NQF level 4 and observation abilities.
  6. Mathematical literacy at NQF level 4.
  7. Life Science at NQF level 4.
  8. Knowledge of caring principles in caring for the elderly with the right approach to it.
  9. Acknowledged Nursing Training from a reputable organization.
  10. A staff nurse’ job is demanding and requires a wide range of skills and emotional intelligence.
  11. Proficient in medical equipment, technology and computer literacy.
  12. Minimum 2 years professional or personal experience in a similar position.

Duties:

  • Candidate will be required to work shifts as per shift roster. This includes day, night, weekends en public holidays.
  •  Providing quality and high standard direct patient care.
  • Managing of carers and working well as a team.
  • Administering medication.
  • Monitoring vital signs.
  • Providing wound care.
  • Managing medical equipment.
  • Keep detailed records of patients’ medical histories, treatments and progress.
  • Work with healthcare professionals, such as doctors, therapists and social workers to develop and implement patient cares.
  • Interact with residents and families about conditions and options for the resident.
  • Excellent communication skills and work effectively and think critically and make decisions to prioritize a patient care needs.
  • Must be compassionate and provide emotional support.
  • Able to use medical equipment and technology proficiently.

Caregiver:

Requirements/Skills :

  1. National Senior Certificate.
  2. Proof of Identity.
  3. Level 1 Certificate in Health and Social care.
  4. Level 2 Diploma in home based care.
  5. CPI Certificate.
  6. First Aid Certificate.
  7. Police Clearance Certificate.
  8. General Certificates of Secondary Education (GCSE’s).
  9. Knowledge of caring principles in caring for the elderly.
  10. Ensure necessary documentation is completed daily.
  11. Emotional intelligence.
  12. Maintain a high standard of personal presentation and hygiene of yourself.
  13. Applicant must enjoy good health with a positive attitude.
  14. At least 1 year professional experience in a similar position.

Duties:

  • Candidate will be required to work shifts as per shift roster. This includes day, night, weekends and public holidays.
  •  Providing patient and resident care with passion.
  • Assisting the residence with bathing, grooming and getting dressed.
  • Transferring the elderly to and from activities and meals.
  • Serving meals to residents.
  • Interact with residents and fellow employees.
  • Must be able to work as a team.
  • Participating in meetings.
  • Carry out any reasonable instruction from the Head of department and Home Manager.
  • Excellent communication skills and work effectively to prioritize the workload and a resident’s care needs and assist with daily activities.
  • Must be compassionate and provide mental and emotional support to the elderly.
  • Follow proper procedures in emergency situations.

Cleaner:

Requirements/Skills :

  1. National Senior Certificate.
  2. Proof of Identity.
  3. Police Clearance Certificate.
  4. Knowledge of caring principles and understanding the environment of an old age home.
  5. Maintain a high standard of personal presentation and hygiene of yourself.
  6. Be sensitive to the privacy and individual needs of the residents.
  7. Knowledge of use of chemicals and Health and Safety protocols.
  8. Applicant must enjoy good health with a positive attitude.
  9. At least 1 year experience in a similar position is a plus.

Duties:

  • Candidate will be required to work shifts as per shift roster. This includes day, night, weekends and public holidays.
  •  Ensuring a clean environment for our service users and staff.
  • Interact with residents and fellow employees.
  • Must be able to work as a team.
  • Providing a daily high quality service and high deep cleaning standard of cleanliness according to the cleaning schedules.
  • Ensuring compliance and adhere to infection control procedures and policies.
  • Correct use and application of cleaning products and materials.
  • Carry out all cleaning duties on a daily basis as directed by the head of Housekeeping according to the required company standards.
  • Carry out any reasonable instruction from the Supervisor and the Home Manager.
  • Cleaning duties can be any area of the old age home.
  • Ensure all cleaning equipment is correctly and safely used and kept in a safe condition.
  • Correct use of PPE.
  • Ensure necessary documentation is completed daily.

Chef:

Requirements/Skills :

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality.
  2. Proof of Identity.
  3. National Senior Certificate.
  4. Police Clearance Certificate.
  5. Communicate, read and write well in English and Afrikaans.
  6. Proof of qualification from a reputable organization or any college education with programs for a specific trade or skill. 
  7. Strong planning and organizational skills with great time management.
  8. People skills are important.
  9. Knowing how to manage the expectations of the old age home.
  10. Managing staff and motivation of teamwork.
  11. Consistency of preparation and presentation.
  12. Knowledge of working in a similar environment.
  13. Enthusiastic about cooking with a hands-on attitude.
  14. Maintain a high standard of personal presentation and hygiene of yourself.

  16. At least 2 years professional experience in a similar position.

Duties:

  • Candidate will be required to work shifts as per shift roster. This includes day, weekend and public holidays.
  •  Scheduling shifts.
  • A degree of flexibility is needed.
  • Interact with residents and fellow employees.
  • Must be able to work as a team.
  • Ensuring a high standard of food quality.
  • Ensure each meal meets the dietary requirements and hygiene.
  • From time to time you will be required to assist in catering for special events.
  • Prepare menus and recipes in line with elderly dietary and nutritional requirements.
  • Ordering and managing of supplies to avoid wastages and shortages – therefore great Stock Control.
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment is correctly and safely used and kept in a safe, clean condition.
  • Correct use and application of cleaning products and materials.
  • Carry out any reasonable instruction from the Food Service Manager and the Home Manager.
  • Ensuring maintenance of all law and health and safety requirements and company policies and procedures.

Kitchen/General Assistant:

Requirements/Skills :

  1. Proof of Identity.
  2. National Senior Certificate.
  3. Police Clearance Certificate.
  4. Basic food hygiene Certificate.
  5. Good knowledge of food hygiene, food preparation and safety procedures.
  6. Knowledge of working in a similar position or understanding the working environment of an old age home with experience working with the elderly.
  7. Compassionate, empathetic and caring nature.
  8. Excellent organizational, time management and multi-tasking abilities.
  9. Enthusiastic about cooking.
  10. Capacity to work in a fast paced environment.
  11. Ability to stand for extended periods.
  12. Applicant must enjoy good health with a positive attitude.

  14. At least 1 year experience in a similar position.

Duties:

  • Candidate will be required to work shifts as per shift roster. This includes day, weekend and public holidays.
  •  Preparation of food.
  • Interact with residents and fellow employees.
  • Must be able to work as a team.
  • Washing kitchen appliances, work surfaces, floors and walls. Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene.
  • Wash up dirty crockery, cutlery and kitchen equipment.
  • Prepare food trolleys ready for meals to be served.
  • From time to time you may be required to assist in catering for special events.
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment is correctly and safely used and kept in a safe, clean condition.
  • Carry out any reasonable instruction from the Food Service Manager and the Home Manager.
  • Follow ecological waste disposal of food packaging and food waste.
  • Apply with all Health and Safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Take part in training courses as required.
  • A degree of flexibility is needed.
